Christmas Festivities in the 15th Century

Knights in Battle will once again be returning to Dronfield Hall Barn, on the 23rd, and 24th of November for more Medieval Christmas fun, and festivities. Last year we took over the barn and put on an incredible display of what would have happened during the buildup to the Christmas period. This year can expect to see the same great standard of informative entertainment, and displays, with a slight difference of two different plays, instead of last years one. I can assure you it's worth the visit.

If you want to get a glimpse of how Christmas was seen in 15th Century England, then please come along.

Games were one of the main ways to pass time in the Medieval period, much as they are now.

A feast was often held to celebrate the period, believe it or not food was richly spiced, even more so if you were wealthy.

Music would often be played at the parties, and gatherings, they were even employed as members of the household.

George and The Dragon, a very medieval styled 'mummer's' play.

Embroidery was a skill learnt by the women of a household, and also a profession. Embroidery would have been used to decorate garments, and garment pieces.

The gruesome tools of a Barber Surgeon.

A fight between friends, as a show of arms, or perhaps belligerents to settle a debt?

With the Incredible amount of wealth on display here, you'd think they'd crack a smile.

This years celebrations will certainly be bigger, and better. All of us at Knights in Battle would love to see you there to get a glimpse of ages past.

Thank you

Knights in Battle
